Volunteer basics

Do I need experience?

Many opportunities are designed for first-time volunteers. The listing or confirmation will explain training, tools, clothing, and physical requirements.

Can young people volunteer?

Age and supervision requirements depend on the activity. Each opportunity should state the minimum age and whether a parent or guardian must attend.

What happens in bad weather?

Outdoor events may move or be canceled for unsafe conditions. Registered volunteers receive updates through the contact information used to sign up.
