Trail history

History of the Spring Creek Nature Trail

The Spring Creek Nature Trail project began with a public need for a connected, natural-surface trail that catered to multiple trail user groups. To address this desire, Bayou Land Conservancy partnered with Texas Parks & Wildlife, Greater Houston Off Road Biking Association (GHORBA), The Woodlands Township, The Howard Hughes Corporation, and both Montgomery and Harris County to build the Spring Creek Nature Trail.

The Spring Creek Nature Trail is a 14-mile, natural-surface path that follows Spring Creek and was built largely by volunteers. It is open to hikers, bikers, birders, and other nature lovers. Experience the gentle meanders, wetland ponds, and abundant wildlife that Spring Creek has to offer on the Spring Creek Nature Trail!
